Our team just received news that our trip to New Orleans has been canceled due to hurricane Gustav.  Forecasts are showing that this storm will gain strength and head for the gulf coast, possibly around New Orleans, early next week.  Northshore Disaster Recovery has advised us to stand down. 

Our trip leader and our missions director at Ginghamsburg have been scrambling to coordinate a trip to Iowa to help flood victims in that area.  We will be working with Hands On Disaster Response (HODR) in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa area.  It sounds like our work will be centered more around demolition and cleanup of those homes affected by the flooding.
